Design for print

Every printed document has a purpose. A business card is a reminder of a meeting, a bookmark, a reminder of where you read your last installment.

The first thing we do is ask you why you want a particular printed piece. What do you want it to do? Who's going to read it and how are you going to put it in front of them?

Design for print isn't just a beautiful combination of typography and imagery. It is also a piece of communication, a product and it should reflect the company's brand.

Any road, we offer as much or as little help as you might need. If you like, we can write the content, or edit and proof your text, take the photographs, you name it, in fact, we'll name it below:

  • Copywriting
  • Copyediting and proof reading
  • Commissioning and art directing the photographic shoot
  • Sourcing and securing the licence for royalty free or rights managed photography
  • Briefing and commissioning illustrators
  • Suggesting the most effective and cost effective format
  • Design and layout
  • Artwork and prepress management
  • Print management
  • Delivery and distribution

At the risk of endless lists, below are just some of the design for print outputs we do all the time:

  • Leaflets and flyers
  • Brochures and reports
  • Education packs and polypropylene wallets
  • Folders and binders
  • Door hangers and swing tickets
  • Letterheads, business cards and compliment slips
  • T-shirts, mugs and other merchandise
  • Badges and buttons
  • Everything else

As part of some of the larger corporate identity projects we have undertaken, Navig8 has developed a suite of materials that compliment each other. In no way do they all look the same, but they feel like they come from the same organisation and communicate the same values.

We did it for Unison Open College, the course publicity materials, the education packs and the guide to courses, year on year have developed into a graphic system. The system also applies to their exhibition and display materials and their website.
